Artist's Description

Every morning we walk up our bumpy farm road

to the mailbox, where my mom's papers are waiting,

along with yesterday's mail.

It's a joyful walk with the two doggies and their

balls, along with all kinds of enticing, invisible-to-human smells.

We've gotten pretty good at air-lifting the ball

from the ground high into the sky with our feet.

Gully, the wonder dog, is a dancer who loves to leap and

twirl, and catches balls in his mouth without even seeing

them coming from behind. Juny, who's vast beyond words,

often misses them, but has fun bouncing

around.

By now, all of us know our

little road very well. And yet,

each day

is new and full of surprises!

I love this little painting.

soft, gentle, and a bit mysterious.

just like that road up the hill:)

For much of my life, I've made my living as a luthier, specializing in unusual, made-up violin family instruments, as well as a whole host of flutes, harps, marimbas, tile-a-phones, etc. etc. But until last year, I'd never spent much time with a paintbrush, or let myself be...
