Our family loves this party, and we often slide down off our hill with our two doggies, and wander around, soaking up art and the joyful night life of Santa Cruz. This painting (done on wood panel, with acrylic and pastels, and covered with cold wax), reminds me of stepping out at night, into the glitz and shine of a town lit up and ready to play.

About a year ago now, something wonderful happened. I'd been going through an increasingly challenging time with my health, which has been a major teacher in my life, and was being brought to my knees by the experience.
