Awhile ago by now I painted a bunch of canvas's rather randomly, just to see who might be hiding inside, ready to jump out with a little coaxing. Well these guys were sitting around with funny hats on their heads, and I began painting around them,,,bringing them to life.
Today when I looked at them again, those crazy hats really looked like books, and the more I played, the more I felt like I'd entered a mad-hatter tea party for bookish boys!

This one was done with a palate knife, and a beautiful AARP credit card thingy that came in the mail today. I cut it up and had fun making textures in that nice wet paint:)
About a year ago now, something wonderful happened. I'd been going through an increasingly challenging time with my health, which has been a major teacher in my life, and was being brought to my knees by the experience. When my dear friend and partner Fred encouraged me to take up art, I was touched by an excitement that was like a thousand smiles singing inside me!
