Those shoes!

Out on a bushwacky walk with dear friends, I received a magnificent outpouring from this young lad, on the necessity of having the right shoes. Such ardent passion mixed itself with tree breath, sand hills and small streams, as we walked along!

This is a digital painting done on an ipad, using icolorama and cleaver painter apps. He sits on a soft sandstone rock, white and blue with late afternoon shadows, looking out over the pines, oaks, and distant redwoods.

I had fun with the texture of this one, including using painted light lines, and text overlayed and embedded in the boy's impressionistic figure.
